What is the most efficient way to get from Aceh to Phuket?

Posted on 22 June 2011 by admin

I will be working in Aceh in late november and I want to go visit a friend in Phuket, however it appears there is no direct way to travel between the two places.

Try this low cost carrier http://www.fireflyz.com.my/ they fly Aceh to Penang. Thereafter Penang to Phuket.

Or try this http://www.airasia.com.my/site/my/en/home.jsp they fly Aceh to Kuala Lumpur. Therefter from Kuala Lumpur to Phuket.

Both are Malaysian carrier.

is there any direct way to go to phuket from singapore by bus?

Posted on 14 June 2011 by admin

i am planning to go to phi phi island in phuket this christmas and i was wondering if there is a bus that can take me from singapore to phuket directly. if there is no way, what other alternatives should i consider.

My reccomendation would be to fly from Singapore direct to Phuket (see below for why), if your then travelling on to Phi Phi you can either arrange a ferry/speedboat on to the islands or my suggestion would be Destination Air’s flight service onto Phi Phi direct from Phuket International Airport.

http://www.destinationair.com

My main reason for suggesting flying from Singapore to Phuket would be the continued violence that I don’t think is widely publicized much outside of the country, the area your bus would travel through doesn’t see one day go by without report of an bombing, arson attack or shootings. That whole area is still under martial law, one of the last remaining areas following the return to democracy recently. The national train service that runs from Bangkok to Penang in Malaysia has been suspended due to a recent bombing attack against it, the trains last I read were not traveling past Hat Yai, the train drivers are refusing to go further unless they are given special security.

So my advice, stay well out of that area, even the british embassy in Bangkok is recommending british nationals (which I am one) to not travel through there unless absolutely necessary.

Chalong Temple, Phuket, Thailand.

Posted on 12 June 2011 by admin

0 Chalong Temple, Phuket, Thailand.Wat Chalong, situated approximately eight kms southeast of Phuket town, with its typical architecture found throughout Thailand, is not known for its artistic merit.
But the temple still remains the biggest and the most beautifully ornamented of Phuket’s 29 Buddhist monasteries.

The Chalong Temple is associated with three revered monks of Luang Pro Chaem, renowned herbal doctors and setters of bones, who helped the people of Phuket put down the Ahngyee — Chinese Coolie, Rebellion in 1876 during the reign of Rama V.

How much to charter a private jet from Houston to Phuket?

Posted on 07 June 2011 by admin

Round trip first class tickets on a commercial airline from Houston, TX, to Phuket, Thailand, cost $13000 and up per person. It sounds like it would be cheaper to charter a private jet! But how much cheaper?
No, not joking. With 3 or 4 people flying together, that comes to more than $50,000 in airfare. It seemed reasonable that I could charter a jet for cheaper. I guess not. :-/

You must be joking. Ten hours of flight time on a chartered jet comes to about 43,000. The flight from Houston to Phuket would be well over 15 hours. Round trip then comes out to thirty hours, meaning you’re looking at a bill of over 125,000 dollars =]

13,000 is really not bad at all for a trans-pacific flight in first, assuming it’s a three class plane.

What are some good places to go on the way from Bangkok to Phuket?

Posted on 21 May 2011 by admin

A friend and i are going to thailiand for 2 weeks, flying into bangkok and out of phuket, and we intend to spend about a week getting from bangkok to phuket, and good places we should stop and check out along the way?

You are welcome to Thailand!

It’s great that you plan to visit Phuket as it is the paradise island of Thailand. On the way to Phuket, following are good places that I would like to recommend you to stop and visit:

1) Koh Samui, a nice holiday destination
It is a charming island with great beaches; i.e. the snow-white sand beaches shaded by towering palms which are very beautiful. The water is incredibly clear, so calm and good for swimming almost the whole year.
You will certainly enjoy and love the natural beauties at this hilly island.

2) Krabi, your best travel destination
It is one of the most attractive travel destination due to its white sandy beaches, fascinating coral reefs, forest with cave and waterfall, etc.
It is an invitation to relax and enjoy life as you never have relaxed and enjoyed before.

Have a wonderful traveling to Thailand!
