Hello! ![]()
Im 16, male, and my girlfriend is thai, and of the same age. I would love to learn thai to be able to commune with her in her native language as well as mine. What would be the best way to do this? She’s willing to teach me, though she has no teaching experience. I understand it’s going to be a hard language to master. I study japanese at school, and i’ve completed the entire school course outside of school. So i have some experience with learning other languages, but i completed this (6 year course) over 3 years, and i would like to be able to become conversant in basic thai within the (australian) summer holidays.
Is there any online guides we should follow? Should i start off by completing something such as the thai pimsleur series, and go from there? Is there a faster way of doing it? I’ve been exposed to the language an awful lot, having spent a lot of time with her non-english-speaking family.. and i can say a few things.. But i’m still definately a beginner. I still find it difficult to match what they say in the first lesson of pimsleur thai.. So i gave up about 20 minutes in.
Thanks ahead ![]()
Pimsleur kind of sucks.

i wan to have couple weeks holidays in spain with my husband and he is english we will travel together do i still need to get a visa to enter spain (lanze0 thx…
Yes, you will need to get a visa prior to travel. The U.K. is not part of the Schengen travel agreement. U.K. residence documentation or Indefinate Leave to Remain does not exempt from the Schengen visa requirement. Citizen of Thailand require to get a visa prior to travel. An English husband living in England does not make use of EU treaty rights; hence a visa is required for a holiday in Spain.
