I’m going to write a book about an interracial and inter-religious relationship with the young man being Thai and Buddhist and the young woman being white and Christian.
So I need to know facts about the Thai culture.
Major Religion
Trivia
foods
holidays
class
place of women in society
ect ect
The book would be fictional. But please help me. And maybe if possible give me some information (or places I could find.) on Buddhism.
ok I realize this isn’t the best place to reserch. And thi isn’t going to be my only sorce. I just want to get some BASIC information ok?
You’re going to write a book and you are doing your research on Y!A? Not going to amount to much of a book. An author would normally visit the place they are writing about, interview people who live there, maybe live and immerse themselves for a while.

My husband and I have recently purchased a ‘Round the World’ ticket and our first stop is Bangkok .
We are planning to stay for a month or so in Thailand and then travel down through malaysia to catch our next flight out of Singapore .
Was wondering which type of visas we need to get, as on the Thai 30 day holiday visa you need proof of flying out of THAILAND … of which we are not doing!
I have just wrote to the Thai consulate about the matter and they wrote back imediatley with ‘Most likely you need to get the tourist visas single entry’
Most likely is not really doing it for me to be honest…. i need to know DEFINATELY… i cant get a straight answer out of the consulate so i thought you guys could help!!
If your from one of the countries listed in the following web site you do not need proof of leaving this is called a tourist visa exempt entry that is good for 30 days at no fee
http://www.mfa.go.th/web/2482.php?id=2490
The other type of visa is a visa on arrival that is good for 15 days and does require a fee this does required a return ticket (see the web site for countries) http://www.mfa.go.th/web/2482.php?id=2490

http://retirecheap.asia Things to be aware of if Traveling in Thailand. During ANY holiday or election the transportation system reaches maximum capacity. It is nearly impossible to get a train or bus ticket unless purchased far in advance. During election all Thai people must return to their home town district to cast their vote. And during holidays it is traditionally a time to return home to pay respects to their families.
On another note. If visiting or living in Thailand, BE CAREFUL if driving or riding as a passenger on a motorcycle. Many people don’t make it back home. Watch and find out why.

iam in thai for a holiday with my parents and we are goin 2 the airport in an hour or 2 and i dont want to get into the plane especialy the thai airways it scares me to death
Thai Airways has a very good safety record and fly very well maintained and modern airplanes. Not only are they a safe airline, but are famous for their service and quality. There may be a couple of airlines in Thailand that may not be the safest, Thai isn’t one of them.
